GROUPS APPEAL TO ITALIAN

On 29 January, Modena, has run together a group of Italian associations, decided to take a step towards the unity of secular forces, often missing. The desire to join

stems from the fact that, like it or not, we face great challenges. Challenges raised against the secular nature of institutions, attacked on every front and on every issue: from the principle of the bioassay autoderminazione by Law 194 to assisted reproduction, the use of contraceptives, the pill RU486, the necessary reform of family law in defense of schools of the Republic. And many others could be added.

Although the lay Italian association experiences a moment of historical weakness - and nobody needs hide - no doubt Italy is in many ways, a largely secular society, as evidenced by several statistics. Each subject lay in fact, the Italian and the Italians showed an independence of opinion by religious dogma and the statements of the parties that bodes well for the present and the future.

The vast majority of secular people are our strength and we wish them and all over the country and we need to talk. Of course to defend the rights gained, but also to extend them.

Moving from defense to the proposal, it is our intention, as advancing only defends what is already acquired.

We therefore decided to test us, in a practical and sincere. We believe that the urgency is more relevant today and this in 2011, oppose the passage of legislation against the freedom-based bioassays, which violates the constitutional right to self-therapeutic, enshrined in Article 32 and confirmed by the international conventions signed by ' Italy. On this issue concrete measure our desire for unity of secular forces. If, as we hope, the outcome is positive, then we will have a new tool to intervene on all issues concerning the rights, individual and civil rights.

For these reasons, we invite all Italian associations that recognize the principle of secularism to join the LAY NATIONAL COORDINATION .
