Four important rules of the Cartesian method based on the reason for seeking the truth:
- evidence: "Never accept anything as true that I do not accept it for evidence"
- analysis "draw each share of difficulties to solve them ... I looked better
- synthesis : start "the most commonplace objects simpler and easier to understand "the way back to the knowledge of the most complex"
- enumeration : retrace the truth known to reconstruct the chain of links.
